Bathroom
A great bathroom should help you start and end the day in the right mood. This edit of products encompasses all the bathing essentials and indulgences you’ll need. For more inspiration, see Design Store's Edits – and the Accessories room.

- Brass Portrait MirrorCox & Cox
A really simple design that's more than the sum of its parts. Hang in a bedroom, a hall or – if you have two basins – as a pair. It doesn’t matter if your taps are chrome by the way, mirrors are silver in themselves so they can work with silver taps.
- Handmade Mini White Ceramic Soap DishNot on the high street
Bars of soap are coming back into fashion again as we start to pay more attention to the waste produced by liquid soap containers – and that means soap dishes are required. Drainage is crucial. This is very pretty.
- Lola Leopard Towel CollectionAnthropologie
Towels have been plain and a bit boring for so long. Why not use them to bring a little pattern and personality to your bathroom? Leopard print is a strong recent trend and while I wouldn’t wear it (I prefer the monochrome stripes of the zebra) this is a pattern that will definitely liven up any bathroom. The grey blanket stitch round the edges is a touch.
- The Environmental ToothbrushBoobalou
If you think about all the indestructible plastic toothbrushes we get through in a lifetime, it’s terrifying. So switch to environmentally friendly bamboo for less than £30 for 12 - and have a fresh one every month.
- Natural DeodorantWild
I have been using this for a couple of years and it really works. That’s probably all you need to know. I have the coconut version. My husband was very sniffy, tried it once, took out a subscription. And now neither of us ever need to think about deodorant again.
- Margo Selby for John Lewis Faversham TowelsJohn Lewis
There will be those of you who are nervous of patterned towels, but then you see them in John Lewis and you think 'oh, that must be fine if they are doing them'. These are by Margo Selby, whose quirky designs can also be found on rugs at Alternative Flooring.
- Toothpaste TabletsBoobalou
I’ll admit I haven’t tried these but I’ve heard about them from lots of different people so I really should give them a try. And for every pack you buy, they will plant a tree. They contain the same amount of fluoride as normal toothpaste and have a minty taste with lots of foam. And the foam, by the way is irrelevant to dental health, but we are conditioned to think it makes everything cleaner, so that’s why we like it.
- RÅSKOG TrolleyIKEA
Trolleys are great for bathrooms as they are often extraordinarily capacious and you can move them to the light when needed - which is often in a dark bathroom like mine. Of course they are also good in kitchens and halls, but we are talking bathrooms here so this is a good idea. Plant a glass of wine on top and wheel it over to the bath.
- Divine Savages Shower Curtains Divine Savages
Bring a bit of glamour and colour to the bathroom with these washable shower curtains that come with their own hanging rings. Attaching a plain inner curtain is recommended.
- Wireworks Revolving Wall CabinetHeal's
This is a really neat idea for small spaces. Mirror on one side and hidden storage on the other.
